SONY	KX2501	C709 on "c" board reversed	In troubleshooting routine, i noted that c709 polarityindication on the pc board is reversed, likewise on the service manual.the positive element is shown going to gnd. this is incorrect. -hq comments: we will publish correction on this.
SONY	XO5	Rev play problem	When in reverse play the forward reel would be engaged andturning against reverse reel, therefore tape did not move.
SONY	CDX5	Unit would not drop disc into play position	Unit would take in disc but would not drop disc into playposition, the disc would then be ejected. this problem would occur onlyabout 50% of the time.
SONY	KV2680R	Intermittent shut off, cold solder on c-1182	Power relay would intermittently begin to chatter and setwould lose raster and audio. the 18.9 volt line would drop to approx.14 volts when this happens. found one leg of filter c1182 had a coldsolder connection.

SONY	KV2654R	Burning r608, replaced d604	R608 gets very hot and opens up in few hours. found d604leaky, had to unsolder the diode to find it was defective.

SONY	CFS3000	Bent button ass	Bent button assy on left side where playback and recordbuttons are locked.
SONY	TAE20F	One channel weak	The right channel volume level was excessive due to aninternal short (115Ω) to ground thru the case of the control. thismade the gain of ic251 too large due to the reduced negative feedback fromthe tone controls.
SONY	TCFX500R	Defective relays cause motorboating in record mode	Intermittent motorboating on record. meter pegs left ch.this is one of many def. relays in the past month.

SONY	SL5000	Slippage during threading/unthreading cycles	Most threading problems are resolved by replacing belt,threading pulley and using sandpaper to rougher gear c surface. this gearis smooth and gets worse with use. -hq comments: roughing the surface with sandpaper and changing the egear, belt and pulley
