SONY	SLHFR30	Unit would power itself on when cassette loaded	With cassette loaded and unit powered down, unit would inter-mittently power itself on. scoped all lines to mpu and found clitches onthe chassette on line (p8 of ic1). measured the resistance of switch s903and was about 1/2 meg.

SONY	XR780	Tape jams	Tape jams. the gears (a, b, assy rvs) are stripping. eitherthey strip causing tape to jam or tape jams causing gears to strip.
SONY	ICF7600A	Part number for j1	I need the correct part number for j1 which is listed inthe service manual in section ta-78 page ta-17. the part number listedis not recognized by kc. -hq comments: 1-507-804-00 is incorrect. the correct p/n for j1 is1-507-730-00. we will issue a s/b
SONY	TA78	No sound	The unit had no audio output. we found ic1/pin 11 to haveabout 2 volts instead of 6. this was caused by a leaky c41.
SONY	SL2405	No phase control of capstan	The unit had no phase control of the capstan. at ic1/pin 20phase output we found a 15hz square wave. this was caused by an opentracking control rv201.
SONY	SLHFR30	No power	No power. 5.5 volt line was down to 2.9 volts. replacedic001, 5.5 volts appeared but still wonunder tr-15 board, grounding the power on.
SONY	CDP400	No operation	Found gnd lug not making good contact with anodized blackchassis, which resulted in no gnd on s803 (in switch pcb) causing nodisc spin.
SONY	CPD1201	Color monitor	When picture control is in minimum position, background goesto red.
SONY	AC910	Wrong transistor in the service manual	Original part removed is 2sa1217. in the service manual thetransistor 2sb834 is used for q1 and q2. using this transistor is notgood because the leads are reversed compared to 2sa1217 (ecb 2sa1217,bce 2sb834).
SONY	CCDV8AFU	No capstan lock	In playback unit showed white noise bar moving through pic-ture. checked all voltages at ic106, all good but pin 25 showed only0.7vdc and would not change. put scope on pins 11 and 12. pin 11 was ok.pin 12 showed only noise. fl108 open.
SONY	D5	Random skipping	Unit is randomly skipping. when adjusting tracking balancethe waveform is low, about 2.5vpp instead of 5vpp.
SONY	EVC8U	No eject and shutdown during playback	1) tape unthreads during eject mode, but will not unload.after unthreading eject led blinks. 2) during playback, unit stops afterabout 10 sec and eject led blinks.
SONY	KV25DXR	Interference in picture	This unit had an interference pattern in the picture, like aherring bone.
SONY	KV25DXR	No rgb operation with pc-701	Inside the pc701 pin 2 is shorted to pin 28 with a shortingwire. in the dxr pin 2 is 5 volts and pin 28 is ground.
SONY	KX8200CD	No analog rgb, replaced ic108	Digital rgb okay, no video on analog rgb. sync was low atq130 collector, found pin 1 of ic108 shorted to ground.
SONY	CCDV8AFU	Shutdown	Unit shuts down in about 10 seconds any mode. checkedvoltage at ph601, 602, 603. found voltage at ph603 pin 3 to be 1.3vdc.led side of ph603 open.
